Last week, Frame had the delight of hosting a PAEA (Peninsula Art Educator's Association) meeting within the cosy surroundings of Frame Espresso. Twenty-four local art teachers from Cairns and surrounds gathered for the briefing on an array of topics, including our very own new project 'The Art of Recycling'.
As with any creative business, here at Frame we have an array of various materials to dispose of. Be it offcuts of our framing, to bubble wrap and wrapping leftovers, right down to the aromatic ground bean waste. You name it, we have it. Our ultimate goal - to recycle & up-cycle!
Whilst maintaining our commitment to sustainability and positive environmental practice, our aim is to assist others in the community and nurture the resulting relationships. Frame believes in building value to all product, including that which would be otherwise rendered useless - as one man’s trash may be another’s treasure.
The PAEA meeting, hosted by Leanne Shead from Trinity Anglican School, allowed us the opportunity to gather interest in obtaining Frame's waste product and its usefulness to local art departments. The day was a huge success and led to a frenzy in the workshop afterwards. Creative minds and found objects - the possibilities are limitless, and it is a delight to see what potential re-purposing holds for Frame and the leaders of our future.
